C H Koontz and wife left Mon day afternoon for a business trip to Portland. They returned Wednesday evening. Mr and Mrs C H Davidson of Shedd, and Miss Addie Davidson of Lebanon, spent Thanksgivings day a t the W L Wells home. — — Linn County Has Farm Bureau Meeting. At a special call ot County Agent. Smith, com m ittee’mem bers of the Linn County Farm Bureau, C R Evans representing Lake Creek, met Saturday. N ov 27. in the Community House in Albany to discuss plans for or ganizing Linn county farmers into the American Farm Rureau Federation. Paul V Maris, DC rector of 0 A C Extension Ser vice, led the discussion, followed by State Organizer Mansfield. Thirty-five states are now organ ized in the American Farm Bu reau Federation with a total membership of one and a half millions. The meeting voted unanimous to place Linn county with the organized unit and so intense was the interest th at an organizing fund of $1500 was un derw ritten in about 15 minutes. A special provision of the feder ation is that 20 per cent of its membership may be composed of business men. A statewide publicity cam paign is to be instigated shortly whereby meetings are to be held in every district and community. These meetings a r e solely for the purpose of acquainting the popu lace with the importance of the federation. No members will be I >\ < r
